Approach and Methodology

The historical sources of literature, its transformations during the modernization process, and the relationships between literature and art are addressed from an interdisciplinary perspective, blended with contemporary theoretical methods.

From Name to Future: “Cedid”

The term “Cedid”, rooted in Arabic and meaning “new”, has become a symbol of modernization movements since the late 19th century. Representing the innovative pursuits stretching from the Tanzimat to the Constitutional eras, this concept signifies for our journal a lasting legacy that combines historical experience with the innovative aspects of modern Turkish literature.

In this context, Cedid aims to provide a high-quality academic ground for researchers and institutions by evaluating literature not only within its own boundaries but also at its intersections with language, culture, sociology, and philosophy.
